MOSES: GOD'S PRECIOUS INSTRUMENT

Who was this Moses?

Moses was an Israelite, a Hebrew, born into the tribe of Levi one of the twelve tribes of Israel.

On the time of Mose's birth the Israelite people were serving the nation of Egypt. Seeing that the Hebrew nation was growing significantly in number, Pharaoh the ruler of Egypt issued a decree that all Israelite male children should be killed. But the Bible says that the Hebrew midwives feared the Lord and did their best to save the the boy children that were born to the Israelite women.

In this scenario Moses's mother could not hide him anymore so she made a basket and placed baby Moses in it and made the basket float in the Nile river. The basket was found by Pharoh's daughter and he was nurtured by her.

So, how did he became the liberator of God's people? How did he accept the role of leading a nation to the promised land? It was God's calling.

Now when the Lord spoke to Moses in Egypt, 29 he said to him, “I am the Lord. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything I tell you.” 30But Moses said to the Lord, “Since I speak with faltering lips, why would Pharaoh listen to me?” Here we see that Moses was trying to ignore God' calling due to the weakness he had. But we also see that God's strength compensated his weakness. Even though Moses gave numerous excuses as to why he was not fit for the job, the Lord called him to be the liberator of His people. Let us examine, are we hesitating to the will of God showing our weaknesses' as excuse?

"Then the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother will be your prophet. 2You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country.
Here we see that the Lors helps Moses to accomplish to what he we called. He did not leave Moses helpless, instead He gave him the provision to fulfill the task given. Do we reply on God and allow Him to demonstrate HIS power?

Moses in spite of his weaknesses played the roles of a leader, mediator, scholar, deliverer. All this was possible for Moses was only because of the power of God that over shadowed his weaknesses.

God bless!
